Second Homes for Retirement!

2 03 2020

If you’re looking for that possible destination whether relaxing for vacation or the rest of your life, look ahead. We are excited to help you look!

Our focus and features will be geared for your search here at Let’s Celebrate South Carolina and CENTURY21 Coastal Lifestyles.  A site and real estate company that believes that if we give you every bit of information that you need to make the BEST real estate decisions, you’ll keep coming back to us!

A lot of the neighborhoods and communities have lots to sell well under the cost they were several years back or  have new developers or builders that have replaced the previous ones.  So it’s a Buyer’s Market for previously used or new homes along the coast of South Carolina.

One look will include the communities on Highway 90, South of Highway 22 to Conway.  A beautiful stretch of land and road that gives the country lifestyle living but  located just 10 minutes to the beach and the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach!

Welcome Spring 2010!

21 03 2010

Plenty of events planned for the Spring!  Earth Day not until next Saturday–gearing up is Market Commons pictured above.  Check out the events on www.MyrtleBeachonline.com or www.NorthMyrtleBeachonline.com

The streets are buzzin–the fresh markets are open.  The antique car show, cheerleaders competition and golfers are here as well as Spring, 2010!  Walk-ins and Buyers are here as well.    Most seem to be wanting the Foreclosure List–above for current list; however, it’s a buyers’ market–good buys everywhere.  The tax credit has been extended through April.  A good thing to take advantage of if you can.   Rules in article below.

Read more about at the Festivals and Events to the right and/or visit the  www.LetsCelebrateSouthCarolina.com blog about South Carolina towns.

We’re looking forward to a robust spring with tourist and buyers wanting to escape from the cold harsh winter 2009/2010.  A winter we won’t forget!  And as we always say, “Come See! Come Live!”

Heart of Myrtle Beach blank canvas awaits unknown artist???

8 12 2009

Our recent mayoral election brought out some compelling comments and views on the future of Myrtle Beach.  I particularly like this one by Bo Bryan on the heart of Myrtle Beach’s future  is a blank canvas for an unknown artist.  Maybe you could be the next visionary for a family oriented tourist/second home town!   Read all about it……..

Just got a note from a friend in Iowa about winter snowstorm approaching…… Burrr.  The weather here in Myrtle Beach is a little overcast today but I’m just wearing a jacket……  A great day for golf, tennis or work!  South Carolina is a great place to live, work and play!  We always say, “Come See.  Come Live!”

By the way, John Rhodes was elected Mayor and he has been in the hospitality/tourism  business since I moved to Myrtle Beach in 1972.  We worked together at the Myrtle Beach Hilton where he was the director of sales–bringing people from across the county to a place we love–Myrtle Beach!   I wrote an article on Myrtle Beach’s birthday and Mayor John Rhodes under www.LetscelebrateSouthCarolina.com.  You may need to look in archives around the first of the year–at bottom.

WOW A “Mayberry” town for Sure!! Loris, SC

14 06 2008

Local radio station WLSC 1240 AM is a connection to the past.  Owner “Banana Jack” and his self acclaimed “Mayberry” town and radio station has made it just that.  We celebrate going back to roots that remind us babyboomers of home……  And, I sure remember Andy of Mayberry, Mt. Pilot and Goober (my favorite, besides Opie).  And, “What it was, was football.”  Do you remember?

You can connect to the nostolsgia at www.WLSCradio.com (streaming online) Country, Bluegrass & Southern Gospel.  You can also connect to the Loris Chamber of Commerce at www.lorischambersc.com.

We’ve just introduced a “Quiet” Nice Neighborhood called Myrtle Lakes North.  It’s just 10 minutes from Loris and 15 minutes from North Myrtle Beach.  Connect to our Coastal Real Estate Connection to see it:  1800ToRelax Coastal Connection

Have you seen those geese heading South?  Well, I saw them recently in Bishopville, SC, while fishing in the “Nash Pond.”  My son caught a big bass!  Well, the “honkers” were flying…..what a sound!  If only I had my camera.

Did you know that one of SC beverages (Yes they have two) is TEA!

14 02 2008

How Sweet it Is Article on Innovista Website (link below) caught my attention.

I’ve been researching trivia and good news on South Carolina and came across an interesting fact.  South Carolina has two beverages: one is, of course, Tea!  (If you don’t have tea for lunch, someone might call you a northerner.)  Guess what the other one is????

The title of this article How Sweet It Is, of course, caught my attention; and, it is on a great website, Innovista, by the University of South Carolina–check it out.

How sweet it is!  The Southeast is currently one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, with South Carolina one of the top 10 destinations in percent-change of population. Known for hospitality and grace, the Southeast also offers scenic mountain views, majestic lakes, endless miles of sandy beaches, and thousands of golf courses.  Under Southeast http://innovista.sc.edu/location/southeast.aspx

By the way, today is Valentine’s Day.  Tell your Sweetie how much you love him/her today….Oh, just go ahead and do it EVERYDAY!

More Business, More Jobs coming to South Carolina

28 01 2008

Names like Starbucks (160 workers in St. Matthews), Adidas America, Inc. (1200 jobs expansion in Spartanburg County), Kraft Foods (1,000 jobs in Newberry County), and more listed in “SC brings in the business” article by Katy Stech of The Post and Courier, January 15, article:  http://www.charleston.net/news/2008/jan/15/s_c_bringing_business27584/

In the article, Joe Taylor, Commerce Secretary of SC, credits the state’s business-friendly policies and reaffirms that SC is a preferred location in which to do business.

And, what about QVC moving into Florence, SC.  All good reasons to “Celebrate South Carolina.”  Stay connected to learn the good news about who’s doing business here, visiting here and living in South Carolina!
